Dean Evans is a los angeles based professional performer, writer, and director. he was named one of the top 50 'players' by New city magazine. He has performed with the Second City, iO, the Goodman, cirque du soliel, and as a solo artist around the world. he is an ensemble member of the renouned performance art collective the neo-futurists where he wrote and performed over one hundred original pieces for the long running show too much light makes the baby go blind. In 2019 Dean made his Off Broadway directorial debut with an original piece called Mil Grus. He is also a member of the LA based troupe Slowdance. Dean is known for his physical performance and characters including the entity who simply goes by Honeybuns. Honeybuns has enjoyed their own career performing in NYC, Chicago, Moscow, Austin TX, and Los Angeles. Dean has created over a dozen full length theatrical productions, various immersive specticals and fluxus happenings, 3 full length circuses, and dozens of comedic characters. Dean has been on faculty at Columbia College, the Second City Training Center, Aloft circus arts, and the actor's gymnasium and most recently the Celebration Barn. He has taught as a guest artist at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Big Apple Circus Clown Care Unit, Uic, Oberlin College, the Ohio State University, Lake Forest College and more. Dean was the Artistic Director of Chicago Physical Theater from 2009 to 2016. Dean currently teaches classes and coaches individuals and ensembles in performance and creation.
